FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Store all of our products in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.
The shelf life of our products is two years when unopened and stored at room temperature.
Upon opening, we recommend that you use your product within six months.
Use in the morning and evening before applying a Serum, Exfoliator or Moisturiser.
Apply directly after cleansing your skin. We recommend not applying any other product on top of the chemical exfoliator.
Facial application of chemical exfoliator: Only apply at night.
Body application of chemical exfoliator: The application can also be in the morning.
We suggest using no more than 2 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration.
We also recommend that you don't apply treatment serums at the same time you apply chemical exfoliators.
For best results, apply your serum directly after cleaning your skin, followed by your hydrator / moisturizer, if that's part of your regimen.
If a moisturiser forms part of your skincare regimen, we recommend applying it as the last step in your skincare routine.
One pump.
It depends on the area of application. Apply just enough to cover the area of application.
Two pumps.
One pea-sized amount for moisturizers.
One teaspoon of DermDefence SPF 50 application to your face.
Medical skincare products are more focused on the formulation of advanced serums rather than moisturisers for the following reason:
Moisturisers are primarily designed to hydrate the skin by adding to and sealing in the body's natural moisture. Although moisturisers often contain ingredients to target specific issues like aging or sun damage, their main role is to get hydration to the skin and keep it there.
Serums, on the other hand, are formulated to penetrate deeply into the skin and address or even reverse the causes of aging and skin damage at the cellular level. Serums contain more active ingredients, antioxidants, nutrients, and vitamins that work to repair the structure of skin cells, increasing skin radiance, smoothness, and suppleness.
Except for the two prescription molecules, hydroquinone (which has a relatively high systemic absorption rate) and tretinoin (for which the evidence is limited and controversial), skincare products act locally and produce minimal systemic levels. In most cases, women can use topical skincare products without compromising the safety of their unborn children.
No DermExcel™ product contains hydroquinone or tretinoin. These active ingredients are only available by prescription from a medical doctor.
DermExcel™ Retinol serum contains an active ingredient very similar to tretinoin. We, therefore, advise customers to discontinue the use of Retinol serum until after pregnancy.

Normal reactions may include stinging or burning, skin peeling, or skin irritation.

Yes. Initial breakout smay occur because of "purging". Not everyone will experience this. Purging is an accelerated rate of exfoliation brought on by an active ingredient that is doing its job. This means that if you have clogged pores, they may seem worse and/or turn into pimples. If you have small pimples, they may turn into larger ones. This initial break out generally goes away anywhere from 2 weeks (with glycolic acid and salicylic acid) to 6 weeks (with retinoids) and your skin gets better from then on.

I have been using Dermexcel for the last three years and it is just fantastic. I recently tried two different brands and it just does not compare. I am once again hooked on my Dermexcel and the results I get with it.
